About the House
Nestled on one of the largest private lots (0.6 acres) in Higgins Beach, the MaineStay is located just two blocks or 500 yards from the beach. The house sits far enough back off Ocean Avenue to ensure considerable privacy without compromising convenience. An expansive, secluded backyard beckons guests to sit and unwind, host a lobster bake, or challenge a friend to a game of croquet or horseshoes. When you tire of adventuring at the beach or beyond, the MaineStay offers a serene setting that welcomes you home each time you return!
Downstairs Kitchen
The house is comprised of two apartments, one upstairs and one downstairs. Numerous renovations and upgrades were completed in the fall of 2006, harmonizing modern conveniences with traditional Maine cottage appeal. The downstairs 2 bedroom unit and the upstairs 3 bedroom unit may be rented individually, or the entire 5 bedroom/3 full bath house may be rented as available. A washer/dryer accessible to both units within a common space provides extra convenience without compromising our guests’ privacy. Both units are equipped with hi-speed wireless internet and cable TV.
The downstairs is a 2 bedroom unit with a full bath, a spacious carpeted living space, a full kitchen with ceramic tile and upgraded appliances, and a sizable deck located off the back of the house overlooking the large private yard. The downstairs unit sleeps 6 comfortably on 2 twin beds, a full bed, and a full futon. Off-street parking for 2 cars is available.
Upstairs Kitchen
The upstairs unit has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a full kitchen with dishwasher, and a spacious living area with dining space. The private deck located on the right end of the house is solely designated to this unit. There is new hardwood flooring throughout the upstairs, making it easy to clean! The upstairs unit sleeps 9 comfortably on 2 full beds, a queen sleeper sofa, a twin pullout, and 2 twin beds. Off-street parking for 3 cars is available.
